  • Facilitate community- and place-based engagement and reporting;
  • Meet legal, ethical and contractual obligations;

  • Honour and preserve ICIP in culturally respectful and community-informed ways.


All use of ICIP will be guided by the principles of free, prior and informed consent, consistent with international best practice (e.g. UNDRIP) and local cultural protocols.


4. Protection and Sharing of Information


4.1 Protection of Information


We implement appropriate technical, physical and organisational safeguards to protect personal information and ICIP against unauthorised access, misuse, alteration or disclosure.


4.2 Sharing of Information


We only share information under the following circumstances:

  • With your explicit, informed consent;
  • With trusted third-party providers who assist us in website hosting or delivering engagement activities—bound by confidentiality obligations;
  • To comply with lawful obligations or enforce our rights;
  • ICIP is only shared or referenced publicly with the express consent of the relevant Indigenous Peoples, Traditional Owners or cultural custodians.


We do not commercialise, misrepresent or exploit ICIP.


5. Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP)


We are committed to culturally respectful and just treatment of ICIP. Specifically, we:

  • Seek and obtain consent before using, referencing or storing any ICIP;
  • Attribute ICIP appropriately to the relevant Indigenous community or Custodians;
  • Follow cultural governance and authority processes for decision-making;
  • Prohibit unauthorised access, reproduction, or sharing of ICIP materials or stories.


By engaging with Tika EQ, you also agree to respect these principles in relation to ICIP.


6. Your Rights


You have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information;
  • Withdraw your consent at any time (subject to legal or contractual obligations);
  • Opt out of non-essential communications (e.g. newsletters);
  • Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe your privacy rights have been breached.
